Truplug Story

"If it were not for the quick use of the Truplug® to stop the leak…the boat would have sunk." - Captain Randy Davis of Vessel Assist Ventura.

We would like to let you know the details of an actual use of TruPlug® July 11, 2009 that in conjunction with the Channel Island Coast Guards response prevented the loss of the of a 37 foot vessel.

Briefly the muffler and connections broke lose allowing water from the turbo cooler lines to begin filling the engine room, shortly the additional weight of that water was enough to allow water to flow in through the exhaust port at the rear of the boat. When the Coast Guard arrived they were quickly able to insert a TruPlug® into the broken 4 inch exhaust hose stopping the inward flow of water while they pumped. They stated that in another 2 minutes and we would have lost the boat. TruPlug® allowed us to quickly and easily stop the inward flow of water. Additionally they used another TruPlug® and inserted it into the exhaust on the outside at the rear of the boat while it was towed in.
