Coming to Miami

Come see us at the Miami International Boat Show next week. Bill Mosher and Art Bandy will be at the convention center in booth U60. We'll be there to answer any questions about Forespar products. Running from February 17th to the 22nd, the Miami International Boat Show is the largest boat show in the U.S., and of course the weather is always great in Miami this time of year.

Art will be giving two seminars at the show as well, including:
Benefits of Downwind Sailing with a Pole - Friday, February 18 - 11:45
Benefits of Marelon Plumbing - Sunday, February 20 - 11:45

Lighting Master Riding High

Lightning Master strike protectors are now atop one of the world's most famous and modern sailboats, the Maltese Falcon. With its three enormous freestanding masts and 15 sails, the 289-foot yacht needs the best lightning protection available. They chose to install 14 Lighting Masters to create an invisible cone of lightning protection for the boat and its guests.

A Blizzard of Sailors

Strictly Sail Chicago was a great success and luckily finished just ahead of the epic blizzard of 2011. As usual, the crowds were very large on Friday and Saturday. Customers seemed particularly interested in whisker and spinnaker poles this year.

Forespar's Art Bandy also presented seven well-attended seminars during the show. His two topics included the benefits of composite Marelon plumbing fixtures over traditional bronze, and the techniques and benefits of downwind sailing with Forespar poles.

The Voyage Continues

Forespar-sponsored writer Meghan Cleary and her fiancé Prescott have now travelled to mainland Mexico through the tropics on a voyage from San Diego, CA to Newport, RI. Meghan is a sailing educational writer for the American Sailing Association (ASA) and her blog describes her voyage, and in particular her use of various Forespar products such as their whisker pole. It's a great real-world perspective on the benefits of sailing with downwind poles. They are currently near Puerto Vallarta preparing to sail to the Panama Canal.
