WHAT'S NEW
OEM News
For the past 20 years, Passport Yachts, owned by Thom Wagner, has built and refined the Bob Perry designed Passport series of performance cruising sailboats.

At the 2004 Annapolis Sailboat Show, Thom took delivery of a Passport 47 for his own use and to display at the show. Over the years, Thom has chosen Forespar masts, booms and other sail handling equipment for all the yachts. Thom chose the long proven Forespar Furlaway™ for his mast mainsail furling system, which incorporates partial vertical battens to enhance sail area and leach design.

PRODUCTS
At the recent IBEX show in Ft. Lauderdale, Forespar exhibited the newest addition to the Nova Lift™ line, the winch lift. This lift is specifically designed to work on a powerboat where there is no winch to use in order to lift heavy objects such as motors, supplies, pets and even people. This new lift has the same 220lbs capacity and has the same clean features which include a self feeding internal line control with exit sheave at the base of the assembly. The winch and bracket can be purchased separately (part # 153370 – retail $111.00) and added to an existing Nova Lift or the entire lift (part # 153312 – retail $600.00) Is now available.

BOAT SHOWS
Bruce Kaiser of Lightening Master™ gave a seminar in the IBEX show on the IONS and OUTS of static dissipaters, which have been sold for years to lower the exposure of tall objects, such as power lines, television towers and Sailboat Masts to lightening strikes by controlling the conditions which trigger direct strikes.

Forespar is the world-wide Marine distributor of the Lightening Master (part # 151100 - retail $98.45, see page 24 of the 2004 Forespar catalog) or request the Lightening Master brochure from customer service for more information.

The Portsmouth 48, designed and marketed by Ted Hood (right), was exhibited at the Annapolis boat show with both a Forespar mast and Forespar Leisure Furl boom reefing system.
